My Father-in-Law
徐州彭城大学 宋德富编辑
One afternoon my father-in-law (my husband's father) dropped in with some peaches (桃) he had just picked from the trees in his yard. He asked me if I'd bake (烤) him a peach pie(馅饼). I gladly said I would and the next day gave him the finished product.
My father-in-law is such a man that it's next to impossible to hear him sing the praises of something, but he told me how good the pie tasted. I smiled with pride, until he added, “Guess, I picked those peaches at the perfect time.”
