［辨析］pledge“誓言”，“保证”，是最常见的词，在任何情况下都可以表示某人严肃地承诺信守原则或接受一项给予的任务。guarantee“保证”，作为口头许诺讲时，意思和作为动词的pledge一样，但该词常指有协定，无论协定是否合法。
