continual /kənˈtinjuəl/ adj. 不停的，频繁的，老是…的：There is continual applause. 掌声经久不息。The shortage of money was a continual worry. 缺钱花是个老大难。

［辨析］continual指事情在一段时间内时断时续，不断重复，如：continual arguments with sb.与某人不断争吵。continuous指连续不断，没有间隔，如：The brain needs a continuous supply of blood. successive是指一个接着一个，如：work on three successive Saturdays
