Hope and Wish

If you wish to do or to have something, you want it without thinking whether it is possible. I wish to go=I want to go. The word is also used for impossible desires. I wish I were French. I wish  you'd told me. But if you hope to do or to have something, you want it and believe that it is possible to do or get it. He hopes to become a doctor.=He has the chance to study and he thinks he can pass the examination./I hope you will help me.= l want you to and I think you can. One cannot hope or have hopes, about impossible things. Compare: I have no wish to go =I don't want to go. /I have no hope of going=I want to but I know I won't.

I wish to go等于1 want to go(我想要去)wish这个词还用来表示根本不可能的愿望:1 wish I were French(但愿我是法国人)I wish youd told me(但愿你告诉了我)。 He hopes to become a doctor. /I hope you will help me. I have no wish to go. /I have no hope of going. .
