My husband and 1 used to promote(宣传)our business by dropping advertising pamphlets(广告小册子)house-to-house. We usually walked together, once in a while splitting up and meeting again a few blocks (街区) down the road. One morning, however, we seemed to have lost each other. I stood at a corner for some time, then decided to follow my husband's track by following his pamphlet deliveries(散小册子的路线).

After looking into four or five letter boxes, I was met by a police officer who had obviously been observing my actions. Uncomfortable, l went to him and said without thinking, “Well, you see , I'm looking for my husband.” He raised an eyebrow (眉毛) and said, “Does he usually hide in letter boxes?"
